About Miami Correctional Facility: As a part of the Indiana Department of Correction, the Miami Correctional Facility promotes public safety by providing meaningful, effective opportunities for successful re-entry.

The Miami Correctional Facility is a maximum security Correctional facility for adult males.
The Miami Correctional Facility is located in Bunker Hill.
Miami Correctional Facility is on the southeast corner of the Grissom Aeroplex, just south of Peru, Indiana, in Miami County.
Miami Correctional Facility offers several opportunities for work and educational programs, including a program where incarcerated individuals translate reading materials to Braille and a sewing shop that provides items for partner organizations.
Salary: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $47,320.
00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows: Coordinate the ACA (American Correctional Association) accreditation process.
This involves managing the ACA requirements within the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) and the facility, working with department heads to obtain documentation needed for accreditation.
Act as the Facility Policy Manager, overseeing all policy updates for the facility as well as ensuring that policy updates from Central Office are placed where required throughout the facility.
Act as the Facility Tort Claim Investigator, investigating all claims and make recommendations based upon the findings.
Supervise facility Mailroom and act as a liaison between Executive staff and mailroom.
Facility American Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator.

What You'll Need for Success: The ideal candidate in this role should minimally have either a Bachelor's Degree and 1+ year of experience, or an Associate's Degree and 3+ years of experience, or at least 5+ years of experience applying the below, outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role.
Related certifications and coursework may be considered for education or experience.
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment: Specialized knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of administrative management Extensive knowledge of department or agency programs Working knowledge of state government administrative structure Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and multitask Ability to coordinate the work of diverse professional and support personnel Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing Ability to maintain cooperative work relationships Ability to develop new, alternative solutions for encountered problems Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports: This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
